Visualize World War II with this illustrated timeline project, great for collaboration or centers. Students select a World War 2 (WWII) topic from the list of events. Students work individually or in groups to research the World War II event. Students summarize the event, identify the relationship of the event to World War II (WW2), and illustrate the event.

My Grade 11 Social Studies class enjoyed this activity and were very engaged in covering all the various topics / battles. Far more interesting for them I think than simply wheeling through PPT slides talking about the battles or having them write notes. In many cases, students went much deeper into the events than was required.
