I am a research policy advocate, educator, curriculum developer, author, PhD, amateur chef and of course, ultra marathon runner. I am deeply passionate about helping every student have the best opportunity to find their passions and develop their skills.
Here you can read about my ideas on education, education policy, what I'm working on, and teaching tips. In other words, a little bit of everything.
In my classroom, we do student-centered, inquiry-based learning, and we have LOTS of fun. I learn every day from my students and am grateful that I get to teach. I develop curriculum that engages students actively in their learning.
My specialty is math and social studies (I know, weird, but you have to go with your skills and passions.) I have taught: U.S. History, World History, Middle School math, Algebra, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Geometry, Middle School English, Journalism, Yearbook, and Drama.
When I am not working, I am running, cooking, traveling or spending time with my amazing family.
